From dry grown vines planted in 1988. Wilyabrup.
There’s no doubting it’s Margaret River Cabernet. Black fruit, violet perfume, cedar, tobacco and pretty strong mix of greener scents like capsicum, bay leaf and fresh rubbed peppermint, though the wine does not smell or taste under-ripe, as such. Medium bodied, concentrated small berries (red and black), some chocolate and spicy herbal flavours, firm fine grained tannin, tight acidity and a long fresh perfumed finish that grips just the right amount. In some respects, kind of hard to rate as personal preference comes strongly into play with the taste and style of it. I like it.
