Beautiful wine. Gets you in with its complex aromatics and flavours straight away. Nectarine and nashi pear, toasted cashew nuts and spice, a kind of briny/estuarine smell that’s very appealing, maybe some white flowers and lime. Medium bodied, rich and layered, with tight fine acidity corseting the pure Chardonnay flavour. Finishes very long and clean, with that cashew richness smoothing out the flinty acidity. It’s right in the zone for drinking now, and while it will cellar and build further, it’s great to see a wine released at pretty much the right time for drinking now.
